At approximately 1700 Central time, the airplane was substantially damaged during a forced landing. Visual conditions prevailed. The pilot was seriously injured and the flight instructor-rated passenger sustained minor injuries.
The pilot reported loss of engine power while on a visual approach to land. The airplane impacted in a nose-low attitude and came to rest adjacent to a fence.
