This brand-new Pilatus PC-12 NGX was ditched about 1000 miles east of Hilo, Hawaii, after its ferry tank system failed to transfer fuel. Both pilots egressed into a life raft and spent 22 hours on the water before rescue.
An easy way to avoid the risk of ditching is to not fly over water. The rest of us should plan ahead.
