Restricted Engine Fuel Hose
Engine began running rough in cruise, the pilot diverted and the aircraft was landed without damage. Investigation found the fuel line between the fuel flow transducer and fuel flow divider was loose at the flow divider. “Although it seems unlikely, the aircraft operator has to consider the possibility that this fuel line came loose by itself in the five days and 23 hours of flying since the last scheduled inspection….”

Leaking Fuel And Oil Hoses
Ground run revealed wastegate oil hose leaking at the engine. Replaced fitting, but leak continued and the hose was replaced with a slightly longer hose. Second test flight above airport found even larger leak than first flight. Component removal revealed main fuel line from fuel strainer to engine-driven fuel pump was wet with fuel and fire sleeve swelling and falling off of fuel hose. All hoses removed and replaced.

Burned Engine Oil Hose
Oil line to the left turbo wastegate controller was contacting the wastegate down pipe, burning a hole in the oil hose. The engine lost 10 quarts of oil before the pilot could land at the nearest airport. The hose needs to be longer to allow rerouting it away from the turbo and exhaust components.

Deteriorated Vacuum Hose
Standby vacuum system found inoperative. Electric-driven pump found full of a thick oily substance. Hose from pump to firewall was full of this fluid, but there was none in the vacuum regulator. It appears the fluid is from deterioration of the hose. “This is an emergency backup system that will fail when it is needed.”

Failed Oil Cooler Hose
After landing, the pilot discovered a pool of oil under the engine. Investigation revealed an oil cooler hose had split and dumped approximately six quarts of oil. Both hoses had been replaced 7.58 flight hours earlier to comply with AD 95-26-13. Close inspection found hose material split open in three places.
