At about 2003 Pacific time, the airplane sustained substantial damage when it struck power lines. The solo commercial pilot was seriously injured. Visual conditions prevailed. According to local law enforcement, the pilot planned to fly to Las Vegas; however, due to darkness and being low on fuel, he diverted.
