The airplane was destroyed on colliding with terrain during cruise flight at 0124 Central time. The Private pilot and one passenger were fatally injured; two passengers survived with serious injuries. Night visual conditions prevailed for the 114-nm flight from the Tulsa (Okla.) International Airport (KTUL), to the Wichita (Kan.) Mid-Continent Airport (KICT). Ground signatures, ground scars and damage to the airframe are consistent with ground impact in a near level attitude. The wreckage was consistent with a normal running engine and the airplane was found to be configured for cruise flight. Flight control continuity was verified. The KTUL weather observation at 0053 included visibility of eight sm and an overcast ceiling at 3600 feet.
